Environmental charter
Our environmental charter
objectives at the end of 2025
Dear Sir/Madam,
We are delighted to welcome you to our establishment.
Since its complete renovation, respect for the environment has been at the heart of our business.
For ourselves, for you and for future generations, we do everything we can to minimise the impact of our activity on the environment.
Ainsi :
we raise awareness among our teams, suppliers and customers:
- Our environmental manager has specific training in sustainable tourism, environmental conservation and CSR.
- Our teams are trained in the eco-friendly practices to be observed in their daily tasks.
- We choose our service providers and suppliers on the basis of their sustainable and social commitments, favouring short circuits, organic and/or eco-responsible products and using reusable wooden containers (cagettes).
- Partnerships with retailers and workshops in the French region, offering discounts to our customers as well as a showcase for their handmade products, with visits to workshops possible, subject to availability, and private events. Displaying the products of these retailers with environmental values similar to our own in our shop windows, to raise their profile and generate interest among our customers and employees.
- We provide our customers with information booklets, brochures and posters on the animal and plant species in the surrounding area, as the city of Angers has a strong focus on plants and environmental initiatives. We will soon be adapting
this information to be dematerialised via a QR code containing Clef information for the host and restaurant, with a section devoted exclusively to CSR and the environment - We offer a wide range of alternatives for reducing car journeys by providing information on how to get around by tram, shuttle, bus, scooter, bike or on foot, and by providing maps and access to these services offered by the city of Angers.
- We invite our customers to take part in our initiatives by offering to put their towels on the floor to be cleaned.
towels on the floor, leaving them hanging on the supports if they want to use them the next day.
the next day. They can also decide whether or not their room should be cleaned by
placing a door hanger at their door - We ask all our customers and staff to sort their waste selectively. Recycling bins are located on each floor for customers and in the various areas and offices for employees.
offices for employees. For glass, wood, metal and batteries, we invite all our customers to drop them off at reception.
to drop them off at reception so that they can be recycled. - Computer equipment in the offices is switched off before departure rather than put on standby whenever possible, and items that can be unplugged or deactivated are unplugged or deactivated: ventilation (hot/cold) in meeting rooms, lights, coffee machines, kettles in bedrooms, lamps, sockets and other equipment that does not need to be plugged in permanently.
other equipment that does not need to be plugged in permanently - We have a payment terminal that automatically sends the ticket by email to reduce the number of printouts. We invite our customers to do so
- We ensure that the lights are switched off for our staff after they leave the room. Our rooms have a key system to turn on the lights so that they cannot remain on when the room is unoccupied. All lights and heaters are switched off directly by a member of the team whenever a seminar or business event leaves.
we save water and energy:
- As we are not equipped with presence detectors or timers in all the common areas/hallways, to limit energy wastage, we are making team members aware of the need to turn off lights, heating/air conditioning and equipment (video projectors in the meeting room, lights and non-essential equipment unplugged in the kitchen) before leaving a room.
- Nous relevons chaque mois nos compteurs d’eau et d’électricité pour mieux gérer nos consommations
- Most of our lighting is LED, which saves energy and provides similar comfort for our customers.
- We have set up procedures with our suppliers and service providers to allow invoices to be sent by e-mail to avoid having to send them by post or print them out, and we have set up computerised archiving to avoid having to print out and store documents on paper
- At least 75% of the establishment’s windows are fitted with double or triple glazing to insulate the premises more effectively, limit nuisance and improve comfort for both our customers and our teams.
- The new appliances acquired by the establishment following the renovations are energy-efficient and we favour European and French products.
- We have banned non-ecological electricity consumption, such as the elimination of halogen lights and the use of outdoor heating and air-conditioning systems.
- Our establishment complies with regulations on water distribution, collection and treatment. A table is kept to enable monthly monitoring and an annual comparison.
we limit and sort waste:
- We have set up a number of selective sorting points in offices and staff areas, as well as on each floor, to raise our customers’ awareness of selective sorting.
- Each room has a card explaining how guests can sort their waste within the establishment (waste sorting bins on each floor + collection of used batteries, glass, metal and wood at reception). The batteries are then taken to a collection point and the metal, wood and glass are recycled.
- We work with a majority of products in bulk or in large packs to limit unnecessary packaging.
- We do not offer disposable crockery, with the exception of doggy bags.
- Organic waste is composted so that it can be recycled
- We measure/estimate the weight/volume of our waste
- Our partners recover delivery tools: wooden crates, glass deposits, etc.
we care about the well-being of our customers:
- In our restaurant you will find a wide range of products from our region, sourced directly from local producers (no central purchasing agency).
- All our food and drink – breakfast, room service, restaurant – is seasonal, organic and/or fair trade. Our Chef changes the menu every fortnight to keep up with the times and work with local and seasonal produce.
- We organise events to showcase our partners and the products sold at the Hôtel d’Anjou and the ODORICO restaurant.
- We cater for special diets such as vegetarian or vegan.
- The products used to clean the accommodation and bedrooms are all eco-labelled, which means better air quality and fewer health risks.
- For the well-being of our teams and yours, we have banned the use of bleach, except in exceptional cases with the agreement of management, as it irritates the respiratory tract and is toxic to aquatic organisms.
- Our establishment is completely non-smoking apart from the outdoor patio, which is equipped with ashtrays that are emptied regularly.
- We have chosen certified organic cotton bed linen for our customers and certified organic cotton uniforms for our teams.
- Hand towels, toilet paper and napkins are made from non-chlorinated materials and/or carry an eco-label.
and much more :
- Our green spaces on the patio will soon be created and maintained without pesticides, and we are using alternative methods to control weeds and insects.
- We have partnerships with local recycling centres and donate our old equipment/furniture to associations. Furniture to associations
- Each year we commit to new criteria to perfect our approach,
So don’t hesitate to let us know your ideas!
